Hiking Cook Forest State Park
The only way to see the best of the virgin timber is to hike. Longfellow Trail is used to reach other trails which lead deeper into the forest. This trail area is registered with the Nation Park Service s a National Natural Landmark. Being only 1.2 miles long it is one for everyone. The Rhododendron Trail enters at Tom’s Run near the Cook Forest Cabins renowned Indian Cabin area and passes through the main stand of timber to Forest Drive. This 1.6 mile trail goes over the famous swinging bridge. Seneca Trail is one of the favorites in Cooks Forest going from the Clarion River Bridge 1.2 miles to the scenic Seneca Point Fire Tower. Trail maps are available at the Park Office on River Road.
