Clarion River Fishing Facts

The Federally designated “Wild and Scenic” Clarion River flows adjacent to Cookriverside Cabins thru Cooks Forest PA. You almost can fish from your front porch. The Clarion teams with aquatic life. Some of the species are: Smallmouth Bass, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Walleye, Pike, Tiger Musky and other non-game species as such as Suckers and Carp. Most fishermen use live bait, then lures to attract their fish. Fly fishermen will find the best Smallmouth Bass fishing in the EAST. Trout fishing in the river is very good until the water warms. Upstream in the cooler waters there is a trophy trout area. Kids can walk to the special fishing area behind the Cook Forest Park office. This site is only for those handicapped or 12 and under. It is stocked regularly by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission and the Cook Forest Vacation Bureau.
